Course Overview:
If you’ve always wondered what lies beneath the surface, now’s the time to find out. Start the journey of a lifetime with the PADI Open Water Diver course. It will change you forever.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, I will take you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool and progress to the open water (quarry or ocean) getting the background knowledge along the way. The course consists of three parts:

  • Academics - The academics is self-study. You read the book, take the chapter quizzes and watch the Open Water Diver video. We'll get together throughout the course to answer any questions, review material and grade the quizzes. You complete the academic part by taking the final exam.
  • Pool - This is where I will teach you, and you will practice, the skills you will need as a Scuba diver. The skills are taught over 5 pool dives, which normally require 2 separate trips to the pool.
  • Open Water dives - The 4 open water dives are conducted either in a local quarry, in Florida or on a Caribbean dive trip. The open water dives is where you demonstrate to me that you can successfully perform the skills you learned during your pool sessions. The open water dives will require a minimum of 2 days, no matter the locale.
