Course Overview:
Be the diver everyone wants to follow and make your sense of direction legendary with the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course. When everyone’s buzzing about a reef or checking out a wreck, they’re having a great time – until it’s time to go. Then they turn to you, because as a PADI Underwater Navigator, you know the way back to the boat.
The course consists of two parts:
- Academics - The academics is self-study. You read the book, take the chapter quizzes and watch the Underwater Navigation video. We'll get together throughout the course to answer any questions, review material and grade the quizzes.
- Open Water dives - The 3 open water dives are conducted either in a local quarry, in Florida or on a Caribbean dive trip. During these 3 dives you'll learn navigation patterns using natural and compass navigation. You'll also learn how to navigate an irregular course using the Nav-Finder and and how to relocate a previously dove dive site.
